Swami Chidvilasananda is a Siddha Master, an enlightened teacher who initiates and guides seekers on the spiritual path. Heir to an ancient lineage of Siddhas, Swami Chidvilasananda received the power to transmit spiritual energy from her master, Swami Muktananda. At the instruction of his Guru, the revered saint Bhagavan Nityananda, Swami Muktananda brought the previously secret experience of shaktipat initiation to the West during the last twelve years of his life.

Since her Guru's passing in 1982, Swami Chidvilasananda, known as Gurumayi, has continued in this tradition, traveling widely, freely bestowing the spiritual awakening of shaktipat, and guiding the development of seekers throughout the world. Wherever Gurumayi goes, whatever she says, whatever actions she performs, she conveys the Siddhas; message that the experience of divine Consciousness is attainable in this human body. Fulfillment is already yours, Gurumayi assures us; you need only look for it in the right place- deep within your own heart.

On the path of Siddha Yoga this experience of completion, the freedom of perfect contentment, comes through the exquisite interplay between the Master's grace and the seeker's effort. Eventually the seeker becomes aware of his or her own perfection and perceives the bond of love that unites each one of us with god.
